Prose Procrastinators Anonymous
A Support Group for Aspiring and Established Writers
Date: We meet each each Thursday, unless it falls within a holiday week. We usually take a hiatus from writing throughout the month of December, as writers have holiday family obligations.
Time: 7pm - 9pm
Place: The PPA Zoom Room. Visit our Facebook Page to join the group and get the invitation link.

Prose:
All the stuff you love to write; fiction, non-fiction, suspense, romance, science fiction, horror, poetry, memoir. |
Procrastinators:
Individuals who put off a task intentionally and habitually, although they really, really want to do it. |
Anonymous:
To be unrecognizable to those who would chastise you for participating in... not participating. |
Writers from all over the world are invited to join in our weekly Prose Procrastinators Anonymous meetings. Enjoy two hours of concentrated writing time each week with a group of like-minded souls who will hold you gently accountable to your writing goals and lend emotional and creative support as you write. Whether you're a Pantser, a Plotter, or a Plantser... all are welcome, from every genre.
The COVID crisis has made it difficult for us to meet as we customarily do, sitting around a cafe table, imbibing on caffeine, cocoa, and snacks while furiously building worlds, characters, plot twists, and snappy dialogue. But the importance a writing community has on our fight against "imposter syndrome" hasn't changed. We still crave that genuine camaraderie with like-minded souls who "get it".
Now, we can do it from home. So, bring your favorite writing tools and WIP. Spend a few hours basking in the energy of a supportive writing community while you move your project forward. Writers of all genres are welcome. The intention for PPA meetings is to support your current writing project - not to supply prompts... but brainstorming is always a welcomed activity.
Here's a basic idea of how it will work (based on the energy of the room each week; times are Eastern US).
Please reserve your space at our virtual writing table at least 24 hours in advance of a meeting. Meetings are limited to 100 writers each week. Adult writers, only; and we prefer English speakers to facilitate effective communication. To maintain your WIP copyright concerns, PPA meetings are NOT recorded.

- 7:00PM - 7:15PM: Log in, say hello, catch up on life.
- 7:15pm - 7:30PM: A Writing Sprint to get us all warmed up. Leader Board Bragging Rights (posted the next day to our Private Facebook Group Page) go to the writer who puts the most words on the page or screen.
- 7:30PM - 7:45PM: Chat, refresh your snacks and beverages, potty break, etc.
- 7:45PM - 8:55PM: CONCENTRATED WRITING! Chatting is encouraged for writerly conversations... but the point here is to WRITE. So, we'd appreciate it kept to a minimum. Use the Facebook group page for more in-depth conversations, brainstorming, research assists, etc.
- 8:55PM - 9:00PM: Meeting wrap-up. Again, Leader Board Bragging Rights go to the writer who reports the most words on the page or screen. We can spend extra time writing or chatting past 9:00PM, if there is a desire (but probably not past 10:00pm).
