February 2025 Virtual Book Festival
We've been hosting virtual book festivals for several years... and each one gets better. Each new event brings together more Indie Authors from more places on the planet. Every time, we try to "one-up" the last and make it more exciting and more fun for everyone, authors and readers alike.
In 2023, we introduced our first Interactive Festival, and it was such a big hit that we've done it ever since. This event is an exciting month of discovering new authors and their books, getting in touch with your inner "Pantser," and having fun making friends from around the world.
THIS YEAR'S THEME IS: "The Isle of Secrets." Off the coast of Michigan's Upper Peninsula lies Keme Isle, a mysterious island with a haunted past and rumors of hidden treasure. A University of Michigan Professor of Archaeology receives a cryptic map and a note hinting at untold riches, sparking a quest to uncover the truth behind the island's secrets. With a small team of experts, they set sail for Keme Isle, braving stormy waters and dark secrets as they delve into a deadly game of cat and mouse.
HERE'S HOW THE FESTIVAL WORKS: We gather together each night, from February 1 - February 28, from 7pm EST to 8pm EST. The first twenty minutes or so will be devoted to hearing two authors read excerpts from their work (each author has about 8 minutes to read). Then, we play our Interactive Improvisational Murder Mystery game.
A collection of brave authors who volunteer, will play the role of one of eight personas. During the game, we'll discover a mystery (or two) and work each night to solve it. The cast members and audience are kept in the dark about who did what and when... they are only given brief character sketches and a thin plot outline. From that, they must answer questions posed by other players and visitors (readers) who join us each night of the festival. Fifteen minutes each night is devoted to probing questions and super-sleuthing skills to ferret out the clues and bring us closer to learning the solution to the mystery. Put a bunch of writers into a room together and give them the chance to do a little Improv, and the result is tremendously entertaining.
Each night is completely spontaneous, and because we make it up as we go along, you never know what might happen and what direction the story and the mystery might take. The evolution is hilariously organic and in the end, everyone is suprised by the solution.

THE SPINNY WHEEL OF HAPPINESS:
At the end of each night, we watch the names of everyone in attendance go around on the Spinny Wheel of Happiness. If the wheel stops on your name, you'll win a FREE AUTHORGRAPHED COPY of a book read that night! We give away two books after each night's silliness.
And if that wasn't enough... This year, we're spinning a Bonus Wheel for even more prize winning opportunities! It's easy to play, just choose a genre and a color at random when you register each night. If BOTH the color AND genre you selected come up on the wheel, YOU'LL WIN SOMETHING SPECTAULCAR! If no one's selection matches the wheel, the prize for that night will be added to the treasure chest and awarded randomly on the Night of The Big Reveal.

If you're curious about what all this looks like in real life... check out the replays from last year's event, "The Seance at The Whitney." Of course, we would love it if you watched the entire game... but if you just want to understand the general idea of how the event goes, we suggest watching the full episodes from days 1, 13, 15, and The Big Reveal on the last day.
