Flights of Fantasy: Bedtime Stories for Children

Extended Submission Deadline: June 30, 2024.

Flights of Fantasy is the theme for our our Spring 2024 Community Service Anthology.  For this collection, we are calling for stories and poems written specifically with children in mind.  Each story or poem must include the concept of flight or the action of a person, animal, fantastical being, or thing flying.

Word Count: 200 - 10,000 words

This book will be rated "ALL." Submissions must meet the following criteria to be included in the anthology:

• No swearing or use of a deity as a swear word (dang, darn, and other substitutes okay)
• May contain minimal crude humor appropriate for children 3 years old, and older
• No descriptions of nudity
• No sex or talking about sex
• No kissing (except a quick peck or two)
• May contain Kid-Friendly violence or horror (think "Scooby-Doo" and that ilk)
• May contain minimal discrimination or bullying if used as a teaching tool (think moral to the story)
• ​No drug, alcohol, or tobacco use

​Submission Guidelines: Please Read Carefully!

• There is no "read fee" associated with this program.  It is FREE for writers to submit as many stories as they like.
• Writers from every continent on Earth are invited to submit.  
• Writers must be 18 years old, or have permission from a parent or guardian to submit.
• All stories and poems must be submitted in English.  Foreign language submissions will be rejected.
• The final submission deadline is April 30, 2024.
• All stories and poems must be submitted by Midnight, Eastern US Time.
•  Late submissions will not be accepted.
• Stories and poems must be rated "ALL", and follow the guidelines listed on this page.
• ​All stories and poems must be submitted through the form on the Pages Promotions website, in MS Word, RTF, or open office equivalent.   Stories submitted in PDF and other formats will be rejected.  
• ​Each story or poem must be submitted separately.  Multiple stories in a single submission will reject all of the files in that submission.   No exceptions.
• Stories and poetry submitted through email, social media, postal, or currier delivery will not be accepted.
• All submissions must be no fewer than 200 words, and no more than 10,000 words.
• Reprints are permitted, and authors are required to supply proof of ownership, upon request.  If ownership cannot be validated, the submission will be rejected.
• Multiple submissions are permitted, and there is no limit to how many stories or poems an author may submit.
• The book will be edited and published for a June 2024 release.
• Proceeds from sales will benefit The Haley Sue Foundation. 
• High School Students who submit a minimum of six pieces will earn a certificate for two hours of community service toward their high school graduation requirements.  Students who live anywhere in the United States are eligible for this award.
• All writers retain ownership rights to their work, and grant Pages Promotions, LLC publication, sales, and distribution rights to their work for this anthology title, only, in perpetuity.
