Flash Fiction Contest
Wednesday Writing Prompts
To support the needs of the world's illiterate population, and to give writers a place to share their talent and creativity, we have created a new Community Service Anthology curated from a collection of submissions to our weekly Wednesday Flash Fiction contest, where entries are posted on our Virtual Book Festival page on Facebook.
Each week, we post a writing prompt to our Facebook page, and ask writers to invoke all the powers of their imagination. The prompts are constantly changing in scope and viewpoint, to keep the stories interesting for both the writer and the reader. Members of our group vote on their favorites, and at the end of June's Summer Reading Regatta (our virtual book festival), we'll have a final contest to determine a grand prize winner. The entire collection, with a featured chapter of all the winning entries at the beginning, will be published in an anthology. Proceeds from sales of this book will support the World Literacy Foundation. and their mission to grow individuals and communities through the written word. |
If you've missed a submission date on our Facebook page, you may still submit either via email, or right here, using this form. We look forward to reading your stories! (Submissions must be sent in either MS Word or RTF formats. No PDFs, please.)
