Due to the challenges with in-person meetings,
this group is on hiatus.

Prose Procrastinators Anonymous
Serving Writers with Accountability and Community Support

Prose:
All the stuff you love to write; fiction, non-fiction, suspense, romance, science fiction, horror, poetry, memoir.
Procrastinators:
Individuals who put off a task intentionally and habitually, although they really, really want to do it.
Anonymous:
To be unrecognizable to those who would chastise you for participating in... not participating.

Writing In Community

Meeting Details:
Date: We meet each each Wednesday, unless it falls on a holiday.  We usually take a hiatus from writing throughout the month of December, as writers have holiday family obligations.  If interest grows, we will add a second day each week for in-person writing time.

Time: 7:00pm - 9:00pm

Place:  The Birmingham Baldwin Library.
330 West Merrill Street; Birmingham, MI  48009
248-647-1700
How To Find Us:
Walk in the main entrance, go past the main circulation desk, and turn left when you reach the  Grand Hall.  Tucked back in the corner of  the Fiction section, between SCI-FI and Large Print books, there are some large tables.  That's where we'll be.

Drop-In Writers are Always Welcome!
There are plenty of plugs, for your electronic devices, free WIFI, vending machines in the basement (covered drinks are allowed at the writing table), and free parking in the Chester Street Parking Deck for the first two hours.

Writers of any age, stage, and genre, are invited to join in our weekly Prose Procrastinators Anonymous meetings.  Enjoy (at least) two hours of concentrated writing time each week with a group of like-minded souls who will hold you gently accountable to your writing goals and lend emotional and creative support as you write.  Whether you're a Pantser, a Plotter, or a Plantser... all are welcome.

Please note, this is not a critique group, a reading group, or a workshop.  This is simply time each week devoted to concentrated writing with other writers who "get" your need to focus and remain gently accountable to each other.

Accountability Check-In

Meeting Details:
Date: We meet each each Thursday, unless it falls within a holiday week.  We usually take a hiatus from writing throughout the month of December, as writers have holiday family obligations.

Time: 7:30pm - 8:00pm

Place:  The PPA Zoom Room.  Visit our Facebook Page to join the group and get the invitation link.
Writers from all over the world are invited to join in our weekly Prose Procrastinators Anonymous Accountability Check-In meetings.  We'll meet to check in and hold each other gently accountable to our writing goals.  This is a friendly way to keep your writing goals on track without a huge time commitment.

Tell us what you're working on... what your writing goals are - whether that's words per day, pages per week, chapters per month... however you measure your success.  We will support you in your efforts to reach your goals while reinforcing your vision for writing and publishing.

This is also an excellent opportunity for Authors to share brainstorming ideas, tips and tricks on the writing process, editorial steps, cover design elements, festival or reading & signing opportunities, and success stories.  Our goal is to support you in your writing career, however that looks to you.

Please reserve your space at our virtual writing table at least 24 hours in advance of a meeting.  Meetings are limited to 100 writers each week.  Adult writers, only; and we prefer English speakers to facilitate effective communication.  To maintain your WIP copyright concerns, PPA meetings are NOT recorded.
