Prose Procrastinators Anonymous
Serving Writers with Accountability and Community Support

Prose:
All the stuff you love to write; fiction, non-fiction, suspense, romance, science fiction, horror, poetry, memoir, business plans, personal development journals, screenplays, theatre scripts, and more!
Procrastinators:
Individuals who put off a task intentionally and habitually, although they really, really want to do it.
Anonymous:
To be unrecognizable to those who would chastise you for participating in something new or different, following a dream, building a passion, or designing a plan.

Meeting Details:
Date: Beginning March 19, 2023
We meet weekly, on Sunday, unless that day falls within a holiday week.  We usually take a hiatus from writing throughout the months of November and December, as writers have NaNoWriMo, holiday, and other family obligations.

Date: Sundays March 19 - October 29, 2023
Time:
 4:00pm - 7:00pm

Place:  Sweetwater's Coffee & Tea
43346 Grand River Avenue
Novi, MI  48375
Who Is Invited?
Writers of any age, stage, and genre living in Michigan are invited to join our weekly Prose Procrastinators Anonymous meetings.  Enjoy a few hours of concentrated writing time each week with a group of like-minded souls who will hold you gently accountable to your writing goals and lend emotional and creative support as you write.  Whether you're a Pantser, a Plotter, or a Plantser... all are welcome.  You will find us at the large table toward the back of the Café.
Space is limited.  If you want a seat at the big table with the group, advance RSVPs are recommended.

RSVPs are Preferred, but Drop-In Writers are Always Welcome!

Sweetwater's has a wonderful selection of hot and cold beverages including coffee, tea, cocoa, and frozen drinks.  They also offer a variety of pastries, desserts, and light sandwiches.  There are plenty of outlets for all your electronic devices... and long-hand writers are welcome, too!  Free WiFi is also available.

Please note, this is not a critique group, a reading group, or a workshop.  This is simply time each week devoted to concentrated writing with other writers who "get" your need to focus and remain gently accountable to each other.

    Count Me In!

Space is limited.  If you want a seat at the big table with the group, advance RSVPs are recommended.
Additional Dates will be added as interest grows.  If you would like to suggest an alternate or additional day; during the same hours, from 4PM - 7PM, please suggest it in this space:

Meeting Details:
Date: Beginning April 19, 2023
We meet on the third Wednesday of every month, unless it falls within a holiday week.  We usually take a hiatus from writing throughout the months of November and December, as writers have NaNoWriMo, holiday, and other family obligations.

Date: Wednesdays, Monthly
Time: 7:00pm - 9:00pm

Place:  The PPA Zoom Room.  Please RSVP below, to receive an invitation link.
Writers from all over the world are invited to join our monthly Prose Procrastinators Anonymous Critique Group meetings.
 This Is How It Works:
Writers are NOT required to share their work, but they ARE required to offer critique when they attend meetings.  To be respectful of the critique process, late entry to the meeting is not permitted.
  • 7:00PM - 7:10PM - Welcome & Hello
  • 7:10PM - 7:20 PM - Reader #1

  • 8:10PM - 8:20PM - Reader #4
  • 8:20PM - 8:30PM -Reader #4 Feedback
  • 8:30PM-8:45PM - Wrap Up & Goodbye
  • 9:00PM Zoom Room Closes  15 Minutes of extra "wiggle-room" is built in... just in case.
If no writers are interested in sharing their work during any given meeting, the meeting time will be an excellent opportunity for writers to share brainstorming ideas, tips and tricks on the writing process, editorial steps, cover design elements, festival or reading & signing opportunities, and success stories.

For more in-depth feedback, beta read requests & offers, and other discussions to help improve your work, we have a Private Facebook Group where work can be shared and discussed.

Access to the Private Facebook Group is by invitation only.

Writers must attend at least one PPA Critique Group meeting per calendar quarter to gain access to the Private Facebook Group.  Writers who do not attend this minimum request, will be evicted from the Private Facebook Group.

Although our main focus for this group is for helpful feedback and critique, our goal is to support you in your writing career, however that looks to you.

Please reserve your space for each meeting at least 24 hours in advance of a meeting.

Meetings are limited to 100 writers each session. Adult writers and High School Students only; and we prefer English speakers to facilitate effective communication.

To maintain your WIP copyright concerns, PPA Critique meetings are NOT recorded.
