Proceeds from sales of books from this project will support The Haley Sue Foundation and their mission to "inspire the visions and the passions of individuals by empowering others to keep shining the light of Haley Sue." 

​This is a fabulous organization that works to uplift the community with the vision of a young woman who believed in kindness above all else.  They offer Special Events, Volunteer Programs, Scholarship Programs, and Community Outreach with service as their passion, following the legacy of a young woman who loved without limits.

    Authors are welcome to submit multiple pieces for this anthology.  However, we require that each submission is sent in a separate form.  ​Files with multiple pieces will be deleted without consideration.  Authors may choose to include a headshot with their work.  All headshots must be in either JPG or PNG formats.  All headshots will be printed in black & white in the published anthology.

PROMPT: A gift is received from an anonymous someone.  The note enclosed reads, "For A Rainy Day".


​​SUBMISSION DEADLINE: February 28, 2022 

Accepted Genres/Formats:  Poetry, Prose, and Anecdotal Essay. 

​Rating: All submissions must meet the following rating specifications: Mild (Mi)
  • No swearing or use of deity as a swear word (dang, darn, and other substitutes okay)
  • May contain mild crude humor appropriate for preteens and up
  • No sex, or talking about having sex
  • May contain mild kissing
  • May contain brief description of non-sexual nudity
  • May contain brief violence or bullying (non-sexual)
  • No drug, alcohol, or tobacco use by minors
  • May contain mild use of drug, alcohol, or tobacco by adults

Poetry must be 45 lines or fewer.
Prose and Essay must be 8,000 words or fewer.


All submissions must be sent via the form below, electronically, in MS Word, Open Office Text, or RTF documents.  Submissions received in any other way will not be accepted.

Multiple and Simultaneous Submissions Accepted:  Authors may submit several pieces, and the pieces submitted may also appear in other books, previously published or forthcoming, simultaneously.  The author retains all copyright and ownership of work submitted.  The author grants Pages Promotions, LLC one-time print rights, and permission for sales of the published anthology, in perpetuity, without author compensation.

Student Community Service Hours:
Michigan High School Students who submit work, with parent or guardian permission, for this anthology will be awarded a certificate for two (2) hours of community service, to use toward their graduation requirements.

Release Date:  The anticipated release date for this book is April 15, 2022.


The book will be available for purchase on Amazon.com in both print and e-book formats.

​NOTICE: To avoid copyright issues, please be sure that your submission meets one or all of these three criteria:
  1. A re-imagining of a work that is in the public domain (author is responsible for verification and any violation consequences).
  2. Permission has been gifted from the original creator of the story or characters that you are using as your foundation (author is responsible for verification and any violation consequences).
  3. Your submission is a 100% original writing.

​Complimentary Author Copies will not be provided for this project.  Contributing authors will receive advance notice, via email, of the book's release, with  a discounted price.  This discount will expire 48 hours after the notice.  This is to give authors time to order copies at a reduced rate.  After that time period, the price will be increased to the full retail price.  The price of the book is set by Amazon.com guidelines.

Proceeds from sales of this book will be split, with 50% supporting the The Haley Sue Foundation and the remaining 50% to offset editorial and administrative costs of the project.
