The Passionate Plotter Writing Workshops
Pages Promotions understand that not everyone is in the same place in their writing journey, and may need coaching and support along their literary path. To meet these needs, we offer Writing Workshops for individuals and groups of aspiring authors at every age and stage, and in every genre.

Our workshops are presented inside the framework of short fiction, short creative non-fiction, and anecdotal essays. This promotes a focus on the specific elements involved in the writing craft, allowing students to discover their natural talents and abilities.
Those drawn to the writing craft remind us that writing is indeed an art, and that sometimes, when working with a creative soul, rules are meant to be bent in order to make the story more fun and interesting! Pages Promotions will help you learn what rules can be fudged and which ones you need to follow more closely as you explore your imagination. Our program focuses on writing short stories, rather than a novel, so we can sharpen the specific skills of craft instead of worrying about the coagulation of more intriciate elements novels require.

Our workshops may be conducted in-person, or via Zoom, depending on the needs of you and your group. The Passionate Plotter Kids workshop is perfect for school-age children, 2nd - 6th grade (including home school and summer camp groups). The Passionate Plotter Workshops are designed for writers 7th grade thru Adult. Our Legacy Writers Workshop is an engaging program specifically designed for Seniors.

Our Writing Workshops focus on the following story elements and strategies, presented in age-appropriate sessions, and instruct in the following areas:
-
Genre Introductions and Story Components
-
Story Arcs and Outlining
-
World Building
-
Crafting Characters
-
Plot Development
-
Scene and Setting
-
Retaining Author Voice
-
Basic Editorial Techniques
-
Peer Review

At the close of group workshops, the students' work will be collected, sent through one last editorial pass by our professional editors, and compiled in an anthology. Once the anthology has been produced, we host a "Launch Event," where selected students are invited to read their work to family and friends who have come to support them.

For individuals walking their own path, we will support you through a "Virtual Launch" event via Zoom, once your story is published. This is a fun way to introduce your work to readers on a smaller scale, specifcally tailored to you and your work.
