If you have young people in your circles, you should most certainly consider sharing this book with them.  If you have a small person who still dwells inside you... share it with them, too.  If you can't find your inner young person these days... DEFINITELY read this book!

Immediately, I was caught by the cover and bright illustrations.  The characters are engaging and fun.  One look at them, and you might guess that there aren't any REAL lessons going on here.  But they're crafty.  Inside each googly eye and quirky smile, lives a story of how children (and adults) can become greater than they believe.   A simple, but highly intelligent definition of the words that make up character and integrity, this book should be the "go to" resource for behavior, no matter the age of the reader.  Reminders of how to develop traits like Curiosity, Mindfulness, , Originality, Patience, and a Vibrancy... just to name a few... are presented joyfully and with a spirit of helpfulness, that can be passed easily from grandparents and  parents to children; from siblings to each other; and from teachers to students.  

This will be a book I gift to little ones as they enter my world... and to my adult friends on their birthday, when the traditional "pep talk" is too much ingenuous repetition.  A gift of this book, to the reader of any age, will stand as a reminder of my belief of who they are at their core being... even on the days when I can't be there to reinforce that understanding in person.

I am grateful to have met Ms. Schimmel, and to have been given the gift of her reminders.  Her book will be pulled from my shelves frequently.
